I am a Mechanical Engineer from the Technological University of Pereira, with a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health Management at the University College of Our Lady of the Rosary and another Graduate Diploma in Integrated Management Systems with Emphasis on Quality (ISO 9001), Environment (ISO 14001) and Occupational Health & Safety (ISO 18001) (QHSE) in the University Colombian School of Engineering "Julio Garavito". My qualifications was validated by Skill Recognition Deparment in Brisbane.
I have an extensive experience in the comprehensive management of the Corporate Occupational Health Program (work medicine, industrial hygiene & safety), aligned to the organizational objectives and goals. This was achieved through the identification, control, monitoring and improvement of hazards in the workplace, in order: maintain health and physical integrity of workers; to have processes more efficient & safe and to comply with applicable legislation on risks management.
I have trained as a volunteer lifeguard in the Colombian Red Cross, Sectional Bogotá D.C., with knowlege in first aid and rescue and I am instructor of emergency industrial Brigades. In Colombia, I am an instructor of working safely at heights, licensed by National Apprenticeship Service (SENA). I am an Internal Auditor in the standards of: System Quality Management ISO 9001:2000; Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2004 and Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series OHSAS 18001:2007.
During my years of experience as manager of industrial safety and occupational health in the company, I have characterized as a person who encourages teamwork with the strategic areas for managing OH&S, seeking practical and reasonable solutions to improvement opportunities presented.
