Introduction

I am a young committed individual who is full of passion and likes to be challenged. I have been working in the Aged Care/Disability Care industry for 7 years and find this field of work extremely rewarding and fulfilling. I have experience in all fields of care. I started my career as an Aged Care Worker, caring for the elderly in a high care/low care facility. Part of my role was palliative care, where I would make my resident and their families as comfortable as possible during the time of their/or their loved ones exit. We were required to position and groom the deceased, ready for the funeral staff to arrive. From there i discovered my passion for working with residents suffering from Dementia. I was placed in a secure dementia unit where i was able to focus on planning startegies to improve the quality of life for my residents. These strategies consists of employing perminent staff who knew the residents behavior and how to manage it, spending one-on-one time talking and bonding with residents and introducing alternative therapies - Doll therapy, Gardening therapy, Sensory rooms, Pet therapy and so on. These strategies all proved to be succesful and are still in place. While i worked in Aged Care I took on a casual role working with Comunity Based Support (CBS) that provided home care to clients who needed assistants in the own homes. My duties included showering, grooming, toileting, medication management, cooking, cleaning, outings and respite care. CBS also provides one-on-one care for patients in hospital who require someone with them 24/7. This role mainly consisted of me looking after patients with mental health issues who are at high risks of falls or harming themselves. After working in facilities and homes I decided for a change and pursued a role as private Personal Assistant to a young quadrilplegic gentleman who owns a motorsport team (LDM). I attend to his personal care needs, drive him to appointments and work, assist him in managing his business, hire and orientate new staff, travel with him to work meetings - domestically and internationally. Since working for LDM I have been employed in a similar role as a Personal Assistant for an elderly successful man who owns and runs a hair academy and multiple hair salons. I thoroughly enjoy my job but have always had a burning desire to work in the Funeral industry. I am wanting to make the transition from improving the lives of the ill, elderly and disabled to working for the deceased and their families to ensure their life is celebrated and they are fair-welled the way they wished to be. Please take the time to read through my resume and consider me for this position. Regards, Sofiya Bouadullah
