Employment History

    • Jan 2010 - Dec 2010
2010 CHIRNSIDE PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL Early this year I started working at the Primary School working in a Prep class and was employed as an 'Integration Aide' to support two Autistic children and worked alongside other children in the class who needed extra literacy and numeracy assistance. I assisted the prep teacher by undertaking duties such as administration tasks (photocopying and written correspondence), making class resources, assisting students with reading and writing and helped to record student work samples (portfolios). Other duties included testing the word knowledge of students and overseeing the use of computer programs. I enjoy working with the children immensely. It is rewarding and provides a great opportunity to help each student reach their goals. I have now finished at the school due to my family and I relocating to Bendigo. After relocating to Bendigo in 2011 I was called on to do a number of short contracts at Girton Grammer as a Prep Assistant and Integration Aide.

TEEN CHALLENGE VIC INC I was approached for this position and felt it would be a wonderful opportunity to work with some dedicated people working in a very worthwhile vocation, helping people with addictions and life issues. I was employed to work in the office, handling the administration area which included payroll, accounts receivable and payable, mailing and banking, superannuation and centrelink payments for the students using the Quickbooks program. It was my responsibility to buy personal items requested by the clients and within their budget. As Teen Challenge is located on a farm in Kyabram with students living on site I had the opportunity to interact with the clients and be a part of their everyday life in the program. I enjoyed it immensely and learned a lot about courage, compassion and strength to change your life in the face of hardship.
