Letter of Recommendation Homebush Boys High School Bridge Rd, Homebush NSW 2135 8th September 2014 To whom it may concern, I have known and taught David oo for 3 years since his arrival at Homebush Boys High School. He has been in my History Elective class in Year 10 and my Modern History class in Years 11 and 12. David came from the United States in Year 10 and adapted to his new circumstances really well. It is not an easy transition to leave one education system and begin your studies in another but he did this truly well. He has a keen mind and has worked to improve his results. He has established strong friendships ith his peers and has become an active member of the school community. At Homebush Boys, David has been involved in a wide range of extracurricular activities. He has represented the school in soccer (football) and on the lead by example. He has also supported the school's charity programs by being a door knocker to raise money for the Red Shield Appeal and delivered food to the elderly as part of 'Meals on heels'! Outside of school, David has contributed to the ide community by being a teacher to young students at the Korean Language School. He has played bass guitar in the band attached to his church. While living in the United States David also displayed a strong commitment to helping others. He was a founder and long time supporter of a breakfast club created to feed students who came to school ithout breakfast. He was a member of a group who helped migrant workers by supplying food and medical care. He also organized a Hemophilia party to lighten the load of young people who suffered from this disease. David is an outstanding young man. He has a strong set of values that include helping those who do not have as many advantages as he has. He is committed to enhancing the learning of others. He is honest, adaptable, and has a mind that explores a ide range of interests. He has been a pleasure to teach. I have no hesitation in supporting his application. -Michelle Degney (B.
