I am currently looking for work as a graduate mechanical engineer, in either the manufacturing sector or in mechanical design. I enjoy both hands on work and the project management side of engineering.
I recently graduated from the University of Wollongong with a bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering with honours. Having experience in both electrical and mechanical engineering gives me a greater understanding of how of how the two disciplines can work together. My Passion is additive manufacturing having completed my honours thesis in additive manufacturing using titanium alloys my fascination with how a new technology is changing the way in which we can design and manufacture every day items.
During my university studies I undertook two separate internships. My first internship was for a small engineering firm that was contracted to work for BHP Billiton in Brisbane. This internship focused on managing large mining projects, this project had a large budget and a very tight schedule. My supervisor commended me for my affability, motivation, time management skills and my ability to communicate with all personnel involved in the project. My second internship was for Raytheon Australia, at Raytheon I focused on systems engineering and architecture. This experience taught me the importance of breaking down large complex problems into smaller subsystems. This makes managing the projects much easier and ensures projects are finished on time and within budget.
