Introduction

Currently I work in the field of hospitality at Sizzler, but I am interested in progressing into a field of work which enables me to focus on my interests in customer relations, event planning and business administarion. Working in hospitality has enabled me to develop my skills in customer service, particularly ‘going the extra mile’ to understand the customer and their needs. At present I hold a current C Class Drivers License. I have excellent computer skills and excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and have completed VET Certificate 1 to 3 in Information Technology. These programs include Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, OneNote and PowerPoint. In addition to this I have had experience in editing programs such as Adobe Fireworks, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Dreamweaver and Indesign, and also website creation software such as WebEasy Pro. Working at Sizzler has also allowed me to gain knowledge and work with a computer based process, through taking orders from customers. The regular update of menus and promotions at Sizzler has also given me the skill of adapting fast to change. With this skill and knowledge combined with my VET certificates, I believe that I would be able to develop proficiency with any software programs. In my current field of work I have learned relevant sales skills such as up-selling, and helping the customer to recognise what they might best enjoy. At Sizzler Caboolture I have received multiple awards for accomplishing set up-selling goals of alcohol and meals. I managed this by delivering the service that we provide to the highest standard, creating a customer-focused environment and also by being approachable and relating to the customer as much as possible. Working at Sizzler for the past year has also provided me with experience in cash handling and procedures performed at the end of the day, ensuring accuracy and accountability. My key strengths are that I am a reliable and honest person and have a high level in computer skills. In addition to this I am motivated, determined and hardworking. I have apt written and verbal communication, particularly from my present role of greeting customers and taking orders at the front of the restaurant. I have a positive attitude and a solid worth ethic supporting me to work to the best of my abilities to reach personal and company goals.
