I am originally from Vancouver, Canada and came to Australia as a backpacker in my early 20's. I have been here for 25 years - if that doesn't give away my age, then my birthday certainly will.
Back in 1999 I started out in mining as a site cleaner and was able to network my way through various roles: sampler for Wallis Drilling, sample bag picker-upper, blast crew member, dump truck driver, emergency response team member and eventually, emergency services officer.
I have both residential (8 years in Paraburdoo, WA) and FIFO experience. All up, I have 19 years experience in the mining industry - all of it in Western Australia.
