Senior Contracts Specialist job availability

  • Our client is an ASX listed business whom is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Specialist (Site) to join their team on a minimum 12-month contract position. This is your opportunity to join our Strategic Contracts team.


    The Role
    The primary purpose of this role is to support the contracting process on a large-scale mining project, in particular with respect to tendering of contract works and services and post award contract administration during execution and closeout. Initially this role will be Perth based, and transition to Site based later in the year.


    Responsibilities:
    * Manage sourcing activities in accordance with established Project Controls and Contracts and Procurement policies and procedures and to support project schedule and budget
    * Develop, coordinate and evaluate tender packages for contract works and services
    * Negotiate contract terms and conditions including price
    * Develop well written, well-structured contract documentation and recommendations that supports the project requirements
    * Identify and maximise cost saving opportunities
    * Provide reports, analyses and advice to support contracts decision-making
    * Identify and evaluate key risks at contract formation and seek input from other functions as appropriate (e.g. technical, legal etc.)
    * Maintain and update contract records and generate reports on contract activity to meet organisational compliance requirements and provide access to contract information
    * Contract administration to support execution, including correspondence and contract notices, payment and claims assessment
    * Work as part of the team to deliver value through competitive sourcing and effective contract management


    The Ideal Candidate

    * Will have a legal, supply chain, or procurement related background
    * 7 years + experience in procurement or supply chain within mining or similar heavy industries
    * Bachelor degree in commerce, business, law, or similar desirable
    * Understands the importance of stakeholder relationships and can engage effectively with engineers, legal, quality management and project controls to co-ordinate and ensure contractual delivery parameters are met
    * The ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple work packages
    * Strong attention to detail
    * Professional and respectful manner with others
    * Self-driven and takes initiative to progress and deliver own and team/unit work
