Project Engineer - Assets Delivery job availability

    This role's purpose is to undertake project management support to assist in the provision and management of the State's water related schemes and water resources.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Support the delivery of project through the Asset Acquisition Process and assist in the coordination of scoping, design, construction, commissioning, handover and the close out of projects.
    • Plan allocate and co-ordinate tasks according to an approved programme of work.
    • Assist in the review specifications and tender documents, analyse tenders, and make recommendations for acceptance.
    • Ensure activities delivered are in accordance with the Branch's Project Management Procedures and OSH, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
    • Report on the project outcomes and prepare progress reports, ensuring lessons learnt are captured.
    • Liaise with representatives from other branches, regions, external organisations, consultants, customers and the general public in relation to the delivery of projects.

    Essential Criteria

    Considerable water related professional engineering experience, including:

    • Relevant experience in engineering planning, definition and/or design of infrastructure assets and/or field practice in the functional area to which this position is attached.
    • Sound knowledge of the tendering, contract award and administration process.
    • Relevant experience in the investigation and analysis of project proposals and in reviewing engineering work of others.
    • Demonstrates sound knowledge of engineering principles and practices relating to the function of the area
    • Exercises sound interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Demonstrates technical report writing skills.
    • Has well developed conceptual and analytical skills.
    • Demonstrates sound computing skills, knowledge of Microsoft suite of systems, and engineering software applications.
    • Demonstrates the values and behaviours that contribute to a constructive, high performance culture
