  • We are currently recruiting for multiple Advisor roles for a State Government Department for an immediate start.

    These roles will suit client focused people with well-developed analytical skills and preferably experience in undertaking legal, compliance and/or regulatory activities that benefit vulnerable members of the community. This will require consistent and high-quality decision making in assessment of criminal history and other information; assessing risk; legal research, analysis and writing; and effective engagement with applicants and stakeholders.

    About your new role:

    • Undertake criminal history screening activities, under the relevant legislation and with reference to relevant precedent

    • Make evidence based recommendations to senior management on the screening outcomes

    • Reviewing legal and other documents and writing briefs and correspondence

    • Communicating screening outcomes with applicants and service providers in a clear and timely way (sometimes urgently to mitigate client risk)

    About you:

    • Experience working within a regulatory or compliance setting

    • Law qualifications and background highly regarded, particularly criminal and/or administrative

    • Strong analytical skills

    • High attention to detail and accuracy

    • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral (for brief/report/letter writing)
