Our client is a major pipe manufacturer in the Liverpool area who supply product to the Australian and New Zealand markets including water, gas, plumbing, telecommunication and stormwater.
They have an ongoing casual vacancy (38 hours per week) for a trade qualified Mechanical Fitter with maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment to assist them with various engineering projects.
This is an ongoing casual role to work 38 hours per week. It is expected that this work will last for approximately 6 months, but may be extended.
The hours of work are based on a 38 hour week:
7:00am - 3:30pm (Monday-Thursday): 8 hours
7:00am- 1:00pm (Friday): 6 hours
Overtime may be available during busy periods.
Main duties would include
Carry out preventive maintenance of PVC Pipe Extrusion machinery and associated record keeping
Maintain plant and equipment including spare parts inventory to ensure optimal production capability
Attending to production line breakdown whilst ensuring quick turnaround.
Maintaining a clean and safe workspace-good housekeeping practice (5S lean manufacturing)
Carry out welding repair and fabrication work using MIG or TIG welders.
Undertake minor projects as required by the Engineering Manager or the management team
Observe and comply with all OH& S regulations and procedures
Australian trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
Machining ability (Lathes/Mill)
Competent in pneumatics and hydraulics
Strong metal fabrication and repair experience (electric arc welding, MIG or TIG)
Adhere to Written Maintenance Management System
Demonstrate good troubleshooting & problem solving skills
Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the plastics processing industry)
Working at heights ticket
Confined space ticket
LF forklift license
Restricted electrical licence (electrical disconnect/ reconnect)
This is a day shift role with a casual pay rate $41.16ph (includes 25% casual loading)
