  PERSOLKELLY is seeking a Landscape Architect provide professional advice and design services relative to landscape architecture, urban design, road landscape, open space planning and related matters. This role will be for 9 months with a potential to be extension.

  Your Duties/responsibilities will be:

  Design and Strategy Development

  • Develop and prepare landscape design and documentation for a range of parkland and road landscape projects, including those of a more complex nature.
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for the design and installation of landscape projects.
  • Prepare and oversee project design budgets against approved budgets and report any variances.
  • Source, select and manage any required consultancy services.
  • Prepare, review and lead the implementation of landscape policies, strategies and guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities for future landscape projects and the development of short and long term implementation strategies.
  • Provide advice to the Parks Planning staff in relation to development conditions for road landscape and parkland issues associated with Development Approvals.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to other landscape architects on design management processes, including approval of final landscape design documentation for issue to quote / tender.

  Consultation and Teamwork

  • Undertake appropriate consultation with all relevant stakeholders on proposed landscape designs and strategies.
  • Develop and oversee the delivery of community engagement activities on proposed landscape designs and strategies.
  • Provide specialist advice to internal and external customers.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant statutory authorities and internal stakeholders
  • Provide expert advice to other landscape architects and operational staff on proposed landscape designs and strategies, including identifying design solutions to arising issues.

  Administration

  • Prepare funding submissions and accountability documentation for landscape design projects.
  • Prepare and review reports, presentations and formal correspondence
  • Provide reports on progress of project activities including recommendations.
  • Identify and implement design improvement and quality assurance processes.
  • Undertake any other duties as are reasonably within the limits of the employee's skills, competence and training.

  The successful applicant will possess the following:

  Current C Class driver's licence Tertiary qualifications (minimum 4 year degree) in landscape architecture, preferably registered by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) or a related design field. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in undertaking the design and documentation of major landscape works, relative to public open space areas. Broad knowledge of park management issues. Demonstrated effectiveness in liaising and maintaining relationships with representatives from a variety of agencies and work areas to achieve positive outcomes that will meet community needs. Demonstrated experience to interpret and effectively communicate projects and design strategies to a broad audience. High level of proficiency using freehand graphics, computer-aided design (including Autocad and Adobe Creative suite) and desktop publishing and presentation software, as well as Microsoft Office (Standard) software. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small team environment, providing guidance and mentoring to team members in a manner that encourages performance of duties. Demonstrated proficiency in preparing reports, using Excel and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and experience in the use of MS Office software.
