  • Mechanical Fitter

    Programmed Skilled Workforce is a leading provider of managed workforce and training services.

    We are currently recruiting for Mechanical Fitters to be based in the Hornsby area.

    Our client is a NSW State owned rail transport company that currently have a three+ years project to upgrade the Tangara train fleet that services NSW largest metropolitan rail network. We have a number of opportunities for experienced mechanical fitters to join this exciting project. You will be working in a large team to upgrade these trains with the latest technologically advanced mechanical and electrical equipment.

    Currently the project is running on day shift. As the project progresses you may be required to work afternoon shifts.


    • $47.00/hour inclusive of casual loading

    About your new role:

    • Complete retrofit of the Tangara fleet - mechanical and electrical
    • Working with fine tolerances
    • Ability to work in confined spaces within the rail cars
    • Manual handling and some heavy lifting involved

    Please note that this Project start date is 20 July 2020.

    About you:

    • Australian Mechanical Fitter trade certificate
    • Valid RIW (RISI) Card
    • Current Cat. 3 medical
    • Attention to detail and delivering quality work
    • Team player
    • Experience in the rail industry is an advantage but not essential
    • Have full Australian work rights and be able to provide two most recent contactable work references

    Initial interviews will be held at the Programmed Skilled office in Werrington (near St Marys) from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
