    This successful applicant will be responsible for general machining on centre lathes / drill press, CNC machines and manual milling machines to produce parts to our clients engineered drawings and specifications. Additionally, other duties include machining of components, self-inspection of components, clean and polish used components and grit blasting parts when required. Further, the successful candidate may also complete general fitting work on a wide range of machinery and equipment. This is a labour hire role, and we are seeking candidates who can work up to full time hours Monday to Friday.

    General responsibilities

    • Turn, mill and drill various basic and complex components and parts.
    • Complete components within specified dimensions and finish.
    • Fitting duties including construction, maintenance and fault finding.
    • Achieve appropriate time frames for work.
    • Measure all critical dimensions and ensure surface finishes are correct.
    • Complete discrepancy reports, including reworking components as required.
    • Ensure work orders are clocked to specified jobs.
    • Comply with company OH&S procedures and policies.
    • Other duties as directed.

    Position Requirements

    • Fitter and Turner trade certification.
    • Minimum of 2 years trade experience using various Lathes and CNC machines.
    • Communication skills important.
    • Must be able to interpret technical drawings.
    • Good knowledge of tools and accessories.

    Preferences

    • Minimum 2 years' experience
    • Ability to program CNC machines highly advantageous
    • Fitter experience would also be highly regarded.
