Fitter / Machinist

  Our client is a leading provider of concrete products for the water distribution and civil construction industry based in Rooty Hill.

  They have an ongoing long term casual vacancy for trade qualified Mechanical Fitters for maintenance work on all associated plant and machinery involved in the manufacture of large moulds. Welding experience essential.

  Day shift pay rate is $30.40 + 25% casual loading = $38.00/hour

  Afternoon shift pay rate $30.40 + 25% casual loading + 15% shift penalty = $43.70/hour

  Please note that there will be a training period of 6 weeks on day shift with a pay rate of $30.40 + 25% casual loading = $38.00/hour

  Day shift times are 5:00 am to 1:30 pm.

  Afternoon shift times are 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

  Essential Requirements:

  • Australian Fitter trade qualification
  • Basic welding skills
  • Experience is a similar precast environment highly desirable but not essential

  Please note that the majority of the work will be done in an outdoors yard and not a sheltered workshop.

  There is a requirement for manual handling and heavy lifting in this role.

  There is the possibility of being offered permanent employment after a qualifying period as a casual.

  Successful applicants must complete a medical including drug and alcohol test prior to start.

  Successful applicants must be able to provide original copies of their work rights in Australia such as a valid passport or birth certificate etc.

  Please note that initial interviews will be held in our office in Werrington (near Kingswood) from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
