Financial Controller job availability

  • Our client are seeking a Financial Controller for a six month term to start immediately based out of Nambour. This role a key leadership role accountable for the integrity and accuracy of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service financial systems general ledger and the delivery of accurate and timely financial reports and annual financial statements. This role will lead the management of financial accounting, treasury and capital management

    Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership and direction to the Finance and Capital Services team
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, accounting standards and state government policy
    • Provide expert advice to the Chief Finance Officer and Executive Directors on matters relating to financial reporting, taxation, treasury management, internal control compliance reporting, month end reporting to the Systems Manager.
    • Responsible for the development, maintenance, implementation, and compliance with financial management policies, procedures and work instructions
    • Operation and integrity of the financial systems general ledger month end close process, as well as the prepartion and integrity of the HHS Balance Sheet
    • Manage the Assets management function, maximising return on investment whilst minimising the ling-term cost of utilisation fo the capital asset base

    Requirments

    • Tertiary qualification in business/ finance related field
    • Membership of CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants
    • Previous demonstrated experience in a similar role
