Our client is a world market leader in the supply materials handling systems and integrated automated supply chain technology, software and services. They have a full time permanent role for a Field Service Technician to start as soon as possible.
Hours of work:
The hours of work are generally 6am-2pm or 7am-3pm Monday to Friday (38 hour week).
The successful applicant will need to be available to work regular Saturday work (approx. twice per month) when required.
Some work on Sundays may also be offered when busy
Overtime is paid as the first 2 hours at time ½, then double time thereafter.
The company head office is in Belrose however most work is done travelling directly to and from client sites.
Duties will include mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance and breakdown support on conveyers, sortation systems, AS/RS storage retrieval cranes, mechatronic shuttle systems and box erectors and labellers. The role is approximately 80% mechanical and previous experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is essential. General exposure to PLC trouble-shooting would be highly regarded.
The work will be performed at a large number of industrial client sites that are primarily in the Western Suburbs of Sydney between Liverpool, Parramatta and Blacktown etc
Tool of trade vehicle, tools, mobile phone, laptop, uniform all provided.
There is an essential requirement that the successful applicant is able to work on an on-call roster. For 1 day each week this would cover 6am to 6pm, and approximately every 5-7 weeks there is a need to be on-call over a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The work is primarily in industrial environments such as productions facilities, warehouses and factories so a strong industrial background such as FMCG, steel, glass, high speed packaging etc is essential.
This role would ideally suit an Electrical Fitter or Mechanical Fitter with a Certificate III in Electro Technology with exposure to industrial work sites and breakdown work. Alternatively would suit a licenced Electrician with strong mechanical skills including hydraulics and pneumatics.
A medical (including drug and alcohol testing) and a police check are required before commencement.
Successful applicants must be able to provide original copies of their work rights in Australia such as a valid passport, birth certificate, citizenship papers etc at interview stage. Applicants who cannot provide these documents will not be considered for this role. A current NSW drivers licence is also essential.
Initial interviews will be held in our office in St Marys or Botany (Monday to Friday).
