Draftsperson Traineeship job availability

    Under our Indigenous Employment Services Program, Programmed in partnership with Aurecon one of Australia's leading engineering companies, currently has opportunities for highly motivated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates who have no previous industry experience and looking for a career pathway in an office based environment completing a 12 month Drafting Traineeship.

    Throughout the drafting traineeship, candidates will gain skills and experience to prepare for a career in a wide range of engineering practices including design and drawing
    You will learn about different knowledge and skills in Technical Engineering, rotating through a variety of workgroups. Preparation of digital engineering models and drawings maintain document filing systems - both electronic and scanning and being an active part of the team searching for innovative digital solutions, is all part of the role that you will learn.

    Over the 12 month traineeship, trainees receive:
    Paid full-time wages - 38 hours per week
    Regular training and assessment with TAFE NSW, working towards successful completion of a Certificate III in Engineering - Technical
    On-the-job training shadowing and working alongside experienced and qualified professionals
    Ongoing coaching mentoring and support
    Annual Leave, Personal Leave and Public Holiday Pay
    Kick start to a career pathway in the Industry

    Candidates will need to demonstrate:
    A genuine interest and motivation to pursue a career in Engineering
    Commitment to complete a 12 month traineeship program
    Reliable transport to get to and from work each day
    Be able to pass a pre- employment medical including a drug and alcohol screen

    The location for this position is in Neutral Bay NSW

    Prior to an offer of employment, the successful applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical examination 'fit for work' (including passing a drug and alcohol screen)
