Draftsperson Traineeship job availability

    Under our Indigenous Workforce Services program, we are seeking applications from candidates of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent who have a desire to gain a nationally recognised qualification - Certificate III Engineering - Technical. The Traineeship is within a busy engineering design office so if you possess 'Can Do' attitude, have a strong work ethic and would like to learn while you earn, then this Traineeship could be for you.

    This is an exciting time in engineering with digital modelling taking over from traditional drafting and technical drawing. This is creating huge opportunities for motivated individuals to drive digital design solutions on some of the most iconic and important engineering projects in Australia.

    During the Traineeship you will gain skills and knowledge in Engineering and Modelling with one of Australia's leading engineering companies Aurecon. Duties and key responsibilities may include:

    * Develop skills, knowledge and understanding of virtual 3D modelling functions
    * Prepare digital engineering models and drawings under the guidance of a senior staff
    * Maintain document filing systems, including electronic filing and scanning systems
    * Use knowledge and skills learnt on the job to problem solve
    * Take an active role in the team's search for innovative, digital solutions

    Location:

    The position is located in Warabrook therefore you will need to reside in Newcastle or surrounding area.
