The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) is a charitable foundation, built on partnerships between philanthropy, community, government and business. Their mission is to champion the economic and social strength of Australia’s regional, rural and remote communities through partnerships with the private sector, philanthropy and governments.
FRRR also has a strong reputation as a leader in Natural Disaster Recovery grant-making and community led philanthropic practice. This experience within rural and regional communities has provided FRRR with a solid grounding and level of maturity across their grant making approaches.
They seek a Disaster Recovery & Resilience Lead, who will be responsible for contributing to the ongoing evolution and delivery of FRRR’s Disaster Recovery Framework, along with proactively engaging and collaborating with a range of external audiences within the sector.
About the Role:
Through the delivery of best practice grant making programs, you will be working with a dedicated team leading a range of disaster recovery programs along with supporting the executive team across certain projects that ensure FRRR’s knowledge and experience within disaster recovery is fully capitalized for the benefit of rural and regional communities around Australia affected by natural disasters.
Your key duties may include:
We are seeking an experienced leader who is skilled with coaching staff and implementing and promoting best practice business operations. You will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of grant making or philanthropic practices, ideally within a disaster recovery context, and appreciation of community led practices will also be advantageous.
This role is pivotal to the success of several FRRR programs and as such you will have proven ability to develop positive rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders and manage and develop partnerships and stakeholder relationships. Advanced literacy and numeracy skills will be important to demonstrate, along with a solid track record in delivering projects on time and on budget.
Experience in program research and evaluation practices would also be considered favourably.
Our ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent in Social Sciences and/or Community Development and have experience leading Community Recovery and/or Community Led initiatives.
