  • Are you looking for a role that can give you the opportunity to connect with many wonderful rural and remote communities across Australia? A role that encourages your collaborative leadership skills and expands your best practice project management skills?

The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) is a charitable foundation, built on partnerships between philanthropy, community, government and business. Their mission is to champion the economic and social strength of Australia’s regional, rural and remote communities through partnerships with the private sector, philanthropy and governments.

FRRR also has a strong reputation as a leader in Natural Disaster Recovery grant-making and community led philanthropic practice. This experience within rural and regional communities has provided FRRR with a solid grounding and level of maturity across their grant making approaches.

They seek a Disaster Recovery & Resilience Lead, who will be responsible for contributing to the ongoing evolution and delivery of FRRR’s Disaster Recovery Framework, along with proactively engaging and collaborating with a range of external audiences within the sector.

    About the Role:

Through the delivery of best practice grant making programs, you will be working with a dedicated team leading a range of disaster recovery programs along with supporting the executive team across certain projects that ensure FRRR’s knowledge and experience within disaster recovery is fully capitalized for the benefit of rural and regional communities around Australia affected by natural disasters.

    Your key duties may include:

    • Overall responsibility and oversight of the effective delivery of the suite of FRRR’s Disaster Resilience and Recovery grant programs.
    • Supervise and coach three Program Coordinators.
    • Promote and coordinate best practice approaches to funding disaster resilience and recovery across FRRR’s grant assessments.
    • Provide effective oversight of operational budget management across Disaster Resilience and Recovery Programs.
    • Proactively support monitoring and evaluation in relation to Disaster Resilience and Recovery programs to ensure FRRR’s work is evidence-based and informed by community-led principles.
    • Responsibility for effective, timely, targeted and relevant communications in relation to FRRR’s Disaster Recovery and Resilience work.
    • Contribute to external submissions in relation to disaster recovery; including preparation of funding proposals and policy papers.

    About You:
We are seeking an experienced leader who is skilled with coaching staff and implementing and promoting best practice business operations. You will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of grant making or philanthropic practices, ideally within a disaster recovery context, and appreciation of community led practices will also be advantageous.

This role is pivotal to the success of several FRRR programs and as such you will have proven ability to develop positive rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders and manage and develop partnerships and stakeholder relationships. Advanced literacy and numeracy skills will be important to demonstrate, along with a solid track record in delivering projects on time and on budget.
