Designer - Oil & Gas job availability

  • We are currently looking for experienced Designers with 5-10 years offshore Oil/Gas experience.

    This role is predominantly based in the Perth metro area with some site visits

    The Role

    As a Designer, you will be part of a highly experienced and growing team. You will initially be involved in offshore design work for a global operator. You may have an opportunity to attend offshore site locations as required.

    Main Duties:

    • General structural, marine and offshore design for offshore facilities;
    • Design calculations and analysis;
    • Checking and mark up drawings;
    • Interfacing with clients and suppliers;
    • Some project tasks, including but not limited to - client meetings, preparing Cost/Time/Resource estimates, preparing progress reports for clients, managing budgets and schedules for individual tasks, preparing Scope of Work documents;
    • Addressing site queries as required;
    • Writing technical reports summarising designs or findings of site visits;
    • Visiting client offshore facilities if required;
    • Providing input to the Engineering team;
    • Perform structural calculations and analysis for offshore de-structural modifications and additions
    • Design input, checking and sign-off design of design deliverables (documents and drawings)
    • Assist Lead Engineer in completing budget and schedule estimates as well as reports


    • 5-10 years' experience as Designer;
    • Offshore Oil & Gas Experience;
    • Brownfields Designing Experience;
    • Extensive Auto CAD (preferably 3D) experience
    • An ability to conceptualise in 3D and a solid understanding of 2D drawings;
    • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency;
    • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills;
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word;
    • A positive and proactive attitude;
    • Familiarity with Australian Standards, AISC, DNV, ISO and other offshore codes;
    • A strong work ethic and ability to manage your own time to work within allocated hours and schedules;
    • A strong commitment to putting health, safety and the environment first both in behaviour and design;
    • An ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment to ensure successful project delivery.
