Certificate III Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship job availability

    Programmed, in partnership with one of our large manufacturing clients have an opportunity for an Engineering Mechanical Fitter apprentice.

    We are seeking motivated applicants that have a mechanical mind with a strong commitment to safety, have a passion for the mechanical industry and have the drive to commit to a 4 year apprenticeship.

    To be considered you must have the following:

    * Competent numeracy & literacy skills
    * Positive Attitude
    * Current Drivers Licence and reliable transport
    * Completed Year 10 Education
    * Commitment to become Trade Qualified
    * Demonstrated capacity to work as a team member
    * Demonstrated capacity to work safely with a zero harm attitude

    Working as an Apprentice in this trade may see you completing the following tasks:

    * Mark and shape dimensions of a part to be machined by studying blueprints and using measuring instruments
    * Assemble and fit machined parts using drill holes and tap threads for bottling parts together
    * Fault finding and resolving mechanical issues
    * Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
    * Clean and Lubricate assembled articles
    * Maintenance of equipment including shut-downs
    * Erect machinery and equipment on site
    * Shrink-fit parts during assembly, using oxy-acetylene torches and presses
    * Inspect machinery regularly and make any adjustments or repairs needed by removing worn or damaged parts to install replacements
    * Work as a team member
    * Attend safety Toolbox talks, contribute to the team's safety

    The position is located in Matraville NSW

    We will consider 1st, 2nd and 3rd year apprentices however you must show proof your TAFE studies are 100% up to date.
