    Pilbara Ports Authority in conjunction with Programmed Skilled Workforce are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic applicant to undertake a Boilermaker Apprenticeship in 2019. The successful applicants will work across Pilbara Ports Authority sites in Port Hedland.

    The Applicant must have successfully completed Year 11 Foundation Math as well as have sound English skills. This position is part of the maintenance teams responsible for planned & breakdown maintenance of infrastructure at PPA.

    Essential Work Requirements include:

    * Enrolment in, or commitment to enrol in, an appropriate trade course
    * Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination
    * Mathematical and technical ability
    * A highly developed sense of responsibility and accountability
    * Willingness to follow directions and work in a team environment
    * Diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
    * Commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy working environment
    * Familiarity with a range of tools and equipment including but not limited to lathes, milling and drilling machines and/or cutting and welding equipment would be considered desirable.

    Sound computing skills, as well as the ability to gain a Maritime Security Identification Card and WA Driver's Licence are prerequisites for positions with PPA. The successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical including a hearing test and alcohol and drug screening.
