Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Mechanic job availability

  • Programmed Training Services specialise in the employment of Apprentices and Trainees.

    Programmed, in partnership with one of our large Transport clients have an opportunity for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanical apprentice.

    We are seeking motivated applicants that have a mechanical mind with a strong commitment to safety, have a passion for the mechanical industry and have the drive to commit to a 4 year apprenticeship.

    To be considered you must have the following:
    * Competent numeracy & literacy skills
    * Positive Attitude
    * Current Drivers Licence and reliable transport
    * Completed Year 10 Education
    * Commitment to become Trade Qualified
    * Demonstrated capacity to work as a team member
    * Demonstrated capacity to work safely with a zero harm attitude

    Working as an apprentice in this trade may see you completing the following tasks:
    * Have the ability to work effectively in a team environment; and
    able to demonstrate a mature approach to work matched with a desire and the ability to always achieve a high standard of workmanship
    * Assemble and fit machined parts using drill holes and tap threads for bottling parts together
    * Fault finding and resolving mechanical issues
    * Clean and Lubricate assembled articles
    * Maintenance of equipment including brakes and suspension
    * Inspect machinery regularly and make any adjustments or repairs needed by removing worn or damaged parts to install replacements
    * Perform inspections
    * Troubleshoot braking systems, steering and cooling systems
    * Work as a team member
    * Attend safety Toolbox talks, contribute to the team's safety

    Location:
    The position is located in our Tempe depot.

    What we are offering:
    * Competency based Apprenticeship (4 Years)
    * On the job training as well as nationally accredited training
    * Ongoing coaching, mentoring and support to complete Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade - Fitter

    We will consider 1st, 2nd and 3rd year apprentices however you must show proof your TAFE studies are 100% up to date.
