2020 Process Operations Traineeship Program job availability

  • Programmed, together with Vermilion Oil & Gas Australia, is proud to offer the opportunity to undertake operations traineeships in Western Australia.

    Vermilion holds a 100% working interest in the Wandoo field, offshore Australia.

    Vermilion's Australian oil production receives premium pricing due to Brent-indexing and the strong, long-term, strategic relationships we have cultivated with our key customers in the region. Australian production contributes approximately 5% of total corporate production.

    The Role

    Operations trainees will gain extensive technical knowledge on hydrocarbon processing and ancillary systems, while developing skills to operate process facilities.

    Successful program completion will gain a nationally accredited Certificate IV in Process Plant Operations, which is a recognised standard in the Australian Hydrocarbon Industry.

    Trainees will be employed by Programmed and hosted by Vermilion for the duration of the program (24- 36 Months)

    The classroom-based learning and competency will be conducted collectively. Trainees will be provided with ongoing support and mentoring throughout the program

    Essential Criteria
    * Proven work experience with sound problem solving and decision-making skills
    * Mechanically minded
    * Demonstrated high level of diagnostic, verbal, and numerical reasoning skills.
    * Demonstrated commitment to Health and Safety
    * Completion of year 10
    * Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a day/ night roster pattern

    Essential Criteria
    Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation

    Desirable Criteria
    Industry experience in Mining, Defence, Manufacturing or Light Industrial
