We see and interact with them every day and it's no wonder considering there are 556,403 of them. They earn an average of $421.60 a week and don't usually require any formal qualifications to work in the industry.

So what's the most common job in Australia?

Retail sales workers.

So who works in these jobs? 68 per cent of the workers are female; many are on casual and part-time contracts with a small 172,441 workers in full-time roles. The best paying sales job is in motor sales and these employees earn an average of $68,000 a year.
