Last week, a rumoured 200,000 Snapchat photos and videos were leaked online through the online message board 4chan. This leak was dubbed “The Snapping”.
Let’s get one thing straight. People take (presumably) promiscuous photos of themselves with their phone, send them to other people, and then are genuinely shocked and horrified to find out that they aren’t all automatically deleted? We sent men to the moon in the 1960’s and some 45 years later, we cant fathom that a simple image can’t be saved to someone’s phone without them realising?
I mean, come on.
Snapchat claims that there was no breach of their app’s servers and that in fact, it was a third party app that was responsible for the leak. SnapSave is the third party app that has been put to blame, an app that allows Snapchat users to save and store Snapchats without the sender knowing (creepy).
