Have you been waking up every morning with that sinking feeling in your stomach? It’s normal to look forward to the weekend - it’s not normal to absolutely dread setting foot in the office on Monday.
Sometimes your current workplace might just not be the right fit - it could be you don’t get along with your boss, the evening commute is exhausting, or the team culture isn’t great. In these situations, looking for opportunities elsewhere in the industry is the way to go. BUT … what if you’ve actually found yourself in the wrong career?
It can happen easily! And whether you’re 20, 50 or 80 years old, it’s never too late to make a change!
But jumping into a new career can be pretty scary, and committing to a new role in a new field is a big decision. The great thing is, there are so many opportunities for you to test the waters first! Temporary work can be a risk free way for you to try out a job you always thought you’d be great at and to see if it’s something you could pursue a career in.
Always loved cooking for friends and family? Do some temp work in a restaurant kitchen or bakery!
Live for the outdoors? Get a temp job that lets you stretch your legs and do some physical work. It’s a good way to see if you’d be happier outside the office, and outside the 9-5 routine!
Think you’d make a great teacher? Do some temp work for before and after school care programs to see how it is working with kids in an educational environment.
We encourage you to try taking on a temp job in whichever industry you’re passionate about!! Your career should challenge and interest you, so get out there and find one that does!
